Double Seaspray

A marine inspired family of colours with a watery ambiguous quality that is easy on the eye. The colour identity changes depending on the light - sometimes grey-green, sometimes blue-green. They work wonderfully in colour schemes with deeper related colours with a greyed off weathered quality. A testament to their enduring appeal these types of colours show up in decorative history in the American Federal period, English Arts and Crafts, and the Edwardian period to name a few.

The Double Seaspray family of colours (pictured below) - Quarter Seaspray, Half Seaspray, Seaspray, Double Seaspray and Triple Seaspray.

Designers Secrets

  • the proportions of 60s style rooms can look and feel great with this colour, but paint the skirtings in the same colour as the walls - having them white will visually squash the room
  • these colours are a handsome backdrop to light woods of Scandanavian inspired design
  • avoid pink or red toned woods with this colour family

For beautiful accents, try Colourplus colours (pictured below) Subliminal, Shade, Half Ocean Green, Double Detail White and Shiver.
