Why do I need lining on my drapes?
A good quality lining is vital to protect your drapes, and to create insulation helping to keep your home warmer in winter and cooler in summer. It will also help the fabric to drape better and give a full and luxurious look.
I live in an area that is prone to mildew. What should I be looking for in fabric to help prevent my new drapes being ruined?
Using polyester fabric and lining will minimise mildew problems. Mildew spores need a damp environment to grow. Natural fibres like cotton and linen hold moisture promoting the perfect breeding ground for the spores. Regular vacuuming of your drapes will also help by removing dust, which attracts moisture.

I work night shifts and need to be able to sleep during the day. What can you recommend to cover my windows and keep out the light?
There are several options for this;
a. A close fitting Roman Blind which has been made larger than the window frame and lined with black out lining.
b. Drapes with a black out or "triple woven" polyester block out lining. Again, these need to be made to cover well over the window frame and sit close to the wall using short brackets.
c. A Luxaflex® Duette® in nightfall fabric.
What kind of wooden blind can I use in my bathrooms?
The best solution for bathroom windows is a Luxaflex® Woodmate® blind. These give the look of a wooden blind, but with the advantage of never cracking, peeling, warping or needing to be refinished. Ideal for all areas of high humidity.
My living room has stunning views over the sea, but the sun is damaging my furniture. How can I prevent this and still refrain my view?
The best option is a Luxaflex® Sunscreen® blind. These allow you to retain the view, but cut out glare and harmful UV rays. They come in a range of colours, and there are some with a metalized backing which can help to control heat but reflecting the suns rays back outside, keeping the room cooler in summer.
